St. John's Wort Beanie

Materials

• Wool yarn (in your color choice)
• 4mm circular knitting needles
• Scissors
• Measuring tape
• Needle (for weaving in the ends)

Abbreviations

• PSSO - Pass slipped stitch over
• SL - Slip stitch

Pattern

Start with 10 stitches on 4mm needles.

Multiples of 6

1. Row 1: *Slip 1 stitch as if to knit (SL), knit 2, PSSO*; repeat from * to end.
2. Row 2: *Knit 1, yarn over, knit 4*; repeat from * to end.
3. Row 3: *Knit 3, SL 1, knit 2, PSSO*; repeat from * to end.
4. Row 4: *Knit 4, yarn over, knit 1*; repeat from * to end.

Additional Notes

• When you reach the desired length, start decreasing. The last row should not have yarn overs to avoid holes.
• Complete the row by knitting 2 stitches together across. Leave a long yarn tail, thread it through the remaining stitches, pull tight to close the top of the beanie, and weave in the ends.
